The End

I finally got back to the campaign mode and have successfully beaten COD:MF2. I thought the ending was terrible though. All of the levels were awesome, until the end, when I had to throw a knife at a commander. I thought the ending was abrupt; I asked myself at the end, "That's it?" Even though this was a spectacular game, I was disappointed with the ending.
The overall game design was spectacular. I always wanted to keep playing and trying to better my marksmanship. I will describe more intricate details about the game and its motivational theories in my paper. Thanks for listening.

Still Playing

I am still continuing my adventures with Spec Ops. There are five different levels with 5 sub levels within the level itself. I cannot seem to put the controller down until I beat each one. I think this is because of my competitive fire within me to do well at everything I do. I also believe it is due to the game design. The levels in Spec Ops are totally different than the levels during the campaign mode. Although the background looks the same, the task at hand changes. This allows myself to endeavor in a different mission, which draws me into the game.

Spec Ops

I started playing the Spec Ops mode last week. I am hooked on this game mode. It is very entertaining. I play on the veteran mode; once again, it is very tough to pass a level like this, but when you do it is very satisfying. I also like the fact you can use a partner to try and beat these levels. This concept creates a teamwork aspect to the game, and I like that kind of game play. I enjoy these game plays much more than the campaign mode because I like to work with other people in trying to beat some of the tasks presented with this game.

Finally

I finally have gotten time to play COD. I continue to play the online mode. I am driven to increase my ranking and finish challenges that are presented to an online gamer. This mode is much more fun to play than the campaign mode. In the campaign mode, I just compete for pure enjoyment of beating a level and the attempt of passing all the levels. Once this is done, I have no where to go. Whereas during online play, I can continue playing to increase my rank and my skills. This is the hook with online play. There is always an opportunity to get better. That, I think, is a goal a gamer has-to get better. Hopefully I can continue playing and continue to better my online gaming. Later...

Need COD

We arrived in Texas this morning and I already feel the need to play. I unfortunately won't be able to until we get back Sunday night though. I really want to play the on-line mode of COD. I am especially drawn to the competitive aspect of this mode. I also like to measure my playing skills against others around me. I like to see how I stack up against those I play, instead of playing the computer all the time. Well hopefully I can satisfy my need to play this Sunday after a successful trip down here in Texas. Go Blue!

On-Line

I have not played the campaign mode in a while. I have mostly been playing on-line with my buddies from the baseball team. I have fine tuned my game with the on-line feature, which hopefully will help when I resume my campaign. I am learning different ways of attacking the on-line feature with the different game plays that are offered. During Free-for-All, I do very well, shooting everyone that comes across my path. I struggle a little during the Team Deathmatch phase, but things are improving. We start traveling this coming week so hopefully I find some time to play before we leave. I'll keep you updated!

Blog 6 - Getting Frustrated

MW2 is progressively getting tougher. I am having more and more trouble staying patient and taking my time through the levels. I am learning from my mistakes, but I need to eliminate those mistakes if I want to get good at this game.

I also started playing the online mode for MW2. I am addicted to it. The many options that are available on the internet are awesome. I can play capture the flag, team deathmatch, along with about 15 more options. The better I do in the online mode, the better I become in the campaign mode. So I have been trying to do really well online (hiding, moving around secretly, etc.) so it translates into the campaign mode. Hopefully I can play some this weekend, if I'm not too tired from baseball practice. Look for a blog Sunday sometime and I'll keep you up on my progress.
