Blog 1 - Beginning of a Journey

I'm playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 for PS3. I chose this game because I have been a Halo player for a while, and now I want to get a taste of what real warfare is like, unlike Halo's unrealistic gameplay. My friends always say what a great game this is, so I am going to play to find out for myself if what they say is really true. So far I have played the first two levels (on Veteran) and I love the game. The introduction to the game is unbelievable-the graphics are insane and I'm not even playing on a HDTV. I understand what is going on so far with my objectives and what I am supposed to accomplish. The first two levels have made me be very patient while trying to reach the objectives. I am also learning the controls, and there was a specific introductory level that told me the controls and allowed me to practice shooting and throwing grenades. This goes along with Gee's Practice Principle that while practicing the game it is not boring, and trust me, shooting targets and throwing grenades is not boring. So even though I have only played two levels so far, I have begun to see how COD: MW2 relates to Gee and his principles and teachings.
